Departure date: Daily ITINERARY | Day 1 | | | 08:30 | Pick up from your hotel or guesthouse; then a 1 hour drive into the hills, southwest of Luang Prabang. | | 10:00 | Uphill drive passing banana and pineapple plantations. Stop by an ethnic hilltribe village along the road where the trek starts with a visit to the Khmu village of Ban Long-lao Nung. Close by lies the Hmong village Ban Long-lao Song. | | 10:30 | Three more hours of trekking takes you to the crystal clear waters of just one of the springs that feed Tad (Waterfall) Kuang Si: a beautiful pool full of big large sacred fish. After descending from the top of the waterfall, Lao-style | | 13:00 | lunch is served in a lush setting.
After lunch spend your time bathing or swimming and/or relaxing by the turquoise pools. Make sure you visit Phet, the orphaned tiger, and the young | | 15:00 | sunbears living near the entrance gate.
