Laos Encounter tour 7 days 6 nights.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Upon arrival Vientiane

Upon arrival in Vientiane Capital, you are met and transferred to you centrally located hotel. After a short rest, we start visiting the major sights of the capital, including the oldest Wat Sisaket, the temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo Previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, we stop take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane own Arc de Triumph.
Overnight in Vientiane.

Day 2: Vientiane – Vang Vieng.

Breakfast at the Hotel. Drive to Vang Vieng ( 160 Km – 3 hours drive ), admire and observe the rural life along the road. Visit Ban Houeimo, the fisher Village. Upon arrival in Vang Vieng, Check-in at the hotel.
Lunch at local Restaurant.

In the afternoon take a small boat about 30 minutes ( 2 persons per boat ) to visit the biological gardens down Nam Song River. Visit the natural cave of Tham Chang and later, explore Vang Vieng Township.
Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 3: Vang Vieng – Luang Prabang

Breakfast at the hotel. After drive to Luang Prabang ( 278 km – 5 hours ), on the way, make some stops to visit minority villages and to take photos of the beautiful and remarkable scenery Lunch at local restaurant. Upon arrival at Luang Prabang by late afternoon, transfer to the Mahout Lodge check-in.
Dinner and accommodation at the Mahout Lodge.

Day: 4 Elephant riding + Elephant bathing + City tour

06:30 Am Collect the elephant from the jungle.
08:00 Am Take the Elephant for Bathing on the Nam Khan River.
08:30 Am Enjoy your breakfast.
09:30 Pm
Enjoy the new perspective and the wonderful nature on this approx. One and half hour Elephant riding. A stunning Landscape, quietness, and the lush nature give you relaxed stay on the back of the protected Elephant.

Visit Vat Visoun, the site of an impressive stupa, That Makmo, stylistically more Srilankalese than Lao. Then walk to the nearby Vat Aham, which is one of the city’s major tutelary shrines, visit Vat Mai, build in 1796, famous for the five-tiered roof of its wooden Sim. Afterward continue to visit Vat Xieng Thong, considered as the most beautiful temple. The sim of the Vat represents the classic Luang Prabang temple architecture with its roofs that sweep low to the ground. In the compound stand several small chapels housing bronze Buddha images, which were displayed in 1911. Near the East gate stands the Royal Funeral chapel. Inside are an impressive 12-meter high funeral chariot and various funeral urns of each Royal Family’s member. The gilt panel on the exterior of the chapel depicts a semi-erotic episode from Ramayana. Climb up to Vat Phousi hill for an outstanding view over the city & sightseeing the panoramic view of sunset.

Day 5: Luang Prabang Pak Ou Cave – Khuang Si Waterfall.

After breakfast, we then board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a beautiful view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Cave, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the distillation of local rice wine. Afterward, we drive to the beautiful Khuang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest trails. After returning to Luang Prabang by late afternoon, you were leisure.

Day 6: Luang Prabang – Oudomxai – Luang Namtha.

Breakfast at the hotel Visit the National Museum ( former King’s Palace ) displaying a collection of personal artifacts of the Royal Family: photos, musical equipment and gifts received from foreign countries. Then stroll through the lively old quarter to discover the daily life style of villagers. Continuing towards Oudomxai and visit the hill tribes by the way, continue toward Luang Namtha, check-in at the hotel.

Day 7: Luang Namtha ( Ban Nam Yang 1 day NPA trek )

This one day tour into the Nam Ha NPA winds through forest and upland fields. This tour has broad open vistas of the area mountains and the Luang Namtha Valley. Along the way, you may encounter villagers collecting forest products, tending livestock or working their upland fields. The tour visits an Ahka Village. As the road to the village is repaired, this trip will have ever deeper access to the NPA.
