Our Mahout Eco Lodge consists of 19 separate chalets-like cabins lined up slight arc nestled along one of the meandering bends of the Nam Khan River a picturesque atmosphere for relaxing and absorb Lao country-life. our native wood cabins are constructed from locally grown and harvested wood. the posts for our stilted cabins are at least a foot in diameter, providing a solid foundation for the cabins elevated wood hewn floors which are up to several meters up above the ground
Each cabin has its own balcony fronting the picturesque river. Looking
bank across to where elephant from our elephant camp emerge from an opening in the river bank’s rain forest canopy. One also easily see across the way, Phou Suang or elephant hill further in the distinctly conjuring an elephant’s back with a smaller hill forming the elephant ear and head. Each cabins is high-ceilinged with the floor made from local wood-hewn shingles. At the rear is each cabin’s private bathroom. In addition our Mahout lodge is serviced by an open-air pavilion restaurant ideal for alfresco dining. Try our delicious LuangPrabang regional cuisine such as “ Mok and Kai-pan” a favorite Lao snack from locally collected riverweed. Our Mahout Lodge is uniquely situated to combine our All Lao elephant camp with our outdoor activities such as.. cycling, bamboo rafting, Kayaking or swimming as well as cultural activities such as: Visit ethnic minority villages and crafts ( Ban Phanom ) |
